Gift Ejikeme Egbelu is a passionate social entrepreneur who has been contributing to the development of Ohaji/Egbema, Imo state, Nigeria. Gift founded Awarra ‘CA’ Network and people of Ohaji/Egbema – social digital platforms for Peace, Youth and Community development advocacy in rural communities of Ohaji/Egbema in 2010. He has since implemented the following programmes in the area, ‘One Book intiative’- an education mentorship programme; ‘Loud n’ Proud project’ – a youth development programme, and the ACA Beauty pageant (Miss & Mr. ACA), with the sole aim of inculcating and promoting community service mindset among the youths.

 

He has also carried out mentorship programmes in primary and secondary schools – Youth reorientation and empowerment programmes – Community service Peace Initiatives in the post-crisis communities in Ohaji, and Christmas events for children. The Awarra ‘CA’ Network social digital platform has provided youths of rural communities the platform to discover and horn their talent in the areas of Arts and digital skills.

 

He is a researcher and has co-researched extensively on the history, culture and the people of Awarra Court area which can be viewed on awarracourtarea.wordpress.com. This platform has helped many young people to know about the area and has also been very useful to undergraduate students who are making research in the area for their project work. Furthermore, the platform is used to promote the culture and expose the business opportunities in Awarra Court Area.

 

Gift holds First degree in Banking/Finance from the Lagos state University. Professional certification in Oil and Gas Safety Management from Oshacademy, Fire and Health safety from Safety warehouse, Lagos. He was an Administrative officer with Ecobank Nigeria Plc, Business development Executive with Mega Assets managers limited, and Safety manager with the Civic Centre Lagos.

Modestus Nwaulu

Profile

 

Modestus is a social development practitioner with over 8 years’ experience in program design and implementation. He is a skilled fundraising and development strategist and has his core in developing and implementing social programs. A lot of the work he has undertaken includes; grant administration, strategy formulation for startups and coordinating fieldwork activities. Modestus has worked across various sectors in development and he is passionate about youth development, leadership, entrepreneurship, gender, education, good governance, peace development and healthy environment.

 

He served as the General Manager for Programmes at the Centre for Values in Leadership. Previously, he was the LWT Project Team Lead/IT Head of the centre before he was promoted to the position of General Manager programmes. As the General Manager, apart from overseeing all the programmes at the centre, Modestus coordinated the Leader Without Title Leadership Tribute Colloquium programme which is one of the important programmes at the centre. He also managed the Annual Lecture & International Leadership Symposium which holds every February 6. As a multitasker, he contributed to the smooth functioning of the IT department of the centre. He worked with other team lead for strategies and new initiatives for the sustainability of the organization. For his dedication to work and achievements, he was awarded the employee of the year in 2014. He provides technical support to CVL activities.

 

Prior to joining the CVL, Modestus worked at Ge-Vica Link Enterprises where he trained people on the use of computer applications.

 

Modest is a graduate of Philosophy from Imo State University and a master degree holder in Philosophy from University of Lagos. He has a certificate on Social Sector Management (SSM) from Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of the Pan Atlantic University Lagos.

 

Some other training programmes undertaken by him include; Planning for Climate Change in Africa; Project Management; Proposal Writing and Fundraising; Leadership; Power up for Success and others.
